I had to throw in a baby picture because Jimmy was sooo cute! I'm off to the side in this picture, we LOVED to play on that tire swing ALL the time!  Posted by Hello

How lucky I am to have been there from the very beginning! When he was little his Papa Angelo always had a little brown bag of treats for him which is how he earned the nick name of "Junkie Jim". Of course as he grew up his tastes were more refined...like him mom's lemon chicken. Ya gotta love him!!

Yes, refined tastes like his favorite... grilled cheese!! I would never make him one though, because it had to be PERFECT! His mom made them perfect. They were definately his favorite. Jimmy made sure that I bought American cheese for him at the grocery store the night of March 2nd. I did cook him dinner that night. Pasta Pomodora (plum tomatoes) with Shrimp & white wine. We also had this most amazing bread, with huge chunks of garlic in it. It was awesome. Jimmy, Jared and I almost ate the whole loaf before dinner was even served! Jim had the great idea of putting the bread in the toaster because it made the garlic taste even better! Then we ate dinner and watched "That 70's Show" Jim took a shower and started to get ready to go out. He was going to check out this irish pub up the road from my house, and try to meet some people. He wore his new Kenneth Cole shirt, purple and grayish v stripes with jeans. He was bummed that he had already shrunk his new shirt in the dryer, and had to roll up his sleeves. We had to vote on his cologne, he wore Clinque Happy. We also had to vote on the hair gel, the anti-frizz stuff or the waxy stuff. I said anti-frizz, Jared said wax. Jim said the only way to settle a dispute was to flip a coin. So he flipped the coin, and the anti-frizz stuff won!!! He put the stuff in his hair, and remarked "whoa this stuff makes my hair big!" He put on his silver watch, gave me a big smile, promised to leave me a message if he was going to be late -- "so you won't worry", and was out the door...

Leah...thank you from my heart for posting this photo!...I can see him loving that bread...Shoulders a little shrugged and that peculiar little way he would take a bite when taste-testing something! I enjoyed that bread at your house and it was delicious! How wonderful that this little boy in the picture never strayed far from those who loved him best! You were right by his side back then and you were still there to give him that special hug on March 2nd...I thank you Leah!

I made a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner last night that even Jimmy would be proud of! It came out just right. It made me think about him and made me smile. I love my Jimmy

When I read "I would never make him one though, because it had to be PERFECT! His mom made them perfect." it made me think of this story...this was years ago, but i remember asking Jimmy if he wanted me to make him eggs. you would have thought i asked him if he wanted a seven course meal! at first he refused because he said his mom was the only one who made him eggs. she knew he didnt like the "little stringy things" (as he called them) that attached the yolk to the shell--he was very particular and only she knew to remove and cook them JUST how he liked. With a little convincing, i made him the eggs but i know they werent/couldnt be as good as moms--it never is. :)
