Perfecting his technique was a favorite passtime and maybe even a stress relief for Jim...He would ALWAYS say "Watch this, mom!" and I would have this incredible demonstration! I actually tried doing this myself! Not at all easy and there were many thumps on the floor! Jim was good and I'm sooo happy I have him on a video! and I have that practice bottle with duct tape for a memory!
You should ask the people who lived below Jim when he lived in Washington Plaza about Jimmy's practicing. He was always throwing around that bottle and "boom" it would it the floor. Over and over again! I don't think they were big fans of Jimmy and his duct taped bottle!
At the time I wasn't such a fan of the duct tape bottle hitting the floor over and over again... but what I would give to be able to have those moments again...
