Ohhh...those chocolate covered pretzels were so delicious! They were Jimmy's absolute favorites...every year! Jim and his brothers, Frank and Gabe, always had two baskets at Easter...Gramma and Pap would give each of them a basket from the candy store; and what a basket! A big, solid rabbit with their name on it...loads of solid foil wrapped eggs...a box of "pretzels"...tiny spiced jelly beans, baby ducks, crosses we could never eat, chocolate suckers, filled chocolate eggs...one of every color! And the pecan logs (that we always gave away!) On top of all the wonderful chocolates, Gramma would shop for the latest little toys and there would be surprise after surprise in their baskets! The baskets were always too much! (what fun!) and were wrapped perfectly with pastel ribbons. And of course, I would make each of them a traditional basket loaded with everything from Reese's to M&M's...including new PEZ dispensers! This is where the colored eggs came in...ever present, but only to end up "in" the spaghetti sauce on Easter Day! (Yes...in the sauce...and they are very good!) Easter memories...of little boys and Easter baskets! Blessings to you Jimmy.
