i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)

What a perfect little heart!

As a pilot for FedEx, Jim's Uncle Mark flies
to some of the most amazing places in the world!
And yes, his camera is always at hand!

I loved when Mark captured an incredible sunrise
as he departed the airport in Paris early one morning.
He said it reminded him so much of Jimmy...
and I got to share the beauty of that moment!

This past Christmas season, Mark spent several days
flying to cities throughout Europe and Asia.

Quite early one morning, I got a text from him
saying he was relaxing at a Starbucks not
far from the Dome, which is a magnificent
Cathedral in the city of Cologne.
He was visiting the Dome, not only to light candles for
Jimmy and our Mom and Dad, but to also see
the burial crypt of the Three Magi!
Perfect for the Week before Christmas.

He called me as he sat at Starbucks
and said that on the way
into the Cathedral, he had seen
a long stemmed red rose
lying on the brick walk!
I asked if he had picked it up for me...he had not.

(I do find roses in the strangest places
and like to think
it is a bit more than coincidence.)

Of course, I asked him to take a photo of the rose
as he was so near the Dome.
When he went back... it had been picked up.

But...there on the beautiful cobbled bricks...
was this perfect little heart!

(and I carry it in my heart!)

Happy Valentine's Day my Jim!
I love you!

Happy Birthday Jim!

I was thinking about Jim on my walk to class this morning. I had the feeling that my dear friend, Barbara, might be a little down so I sent her a text to let her know I was thinking of Jim and that I love her. Then I asked Jim to send me a sign. It might sound crazy but I usually watch the clouds to see if I get an answer. When I do get an answer, I snap a quick picture and forward it to Barbara to try and make her day a little brighter. It has been so dreary the past week that I really didn't think I would see any beautiful clouds today. I should have known better. I was driving to pick up my daughter and right as I got to the top of Pine Grove Mountain, the sun broke through the clouds. It was so bright that I looked up and when I did I saw this:
"Jim"
Sometimes I think maybe I read too deep into things. Maybe I try to find meaning where there is just coincidence. Some of you reading this might think so. But no matter how hard I try, I cannot look at this picture and not see "Jim."

Happy Birthday, Jim! Thank you for letting me know you are still near. Keep sending me signs and I'll keep forwarding them on to your mom. Love you always.

First thought of the day

Good morning, J. It's me again just wishing you a happy birthday and reminding you that I love you! You were my last thought before sleep last night and my first this morning. Wish you were here but knowing you aren't alone...miss you!!!

XOXO
