disappearing...

The day he first told me he was starting to disappear I didn't believe him & so he stopped & held his hand up to the sun & it was like thin paper in the light & finally I said you seem very calm for a man who is disappearing & he said it was a relief after all those years of trying to keep the pieces of his life in one place. Later on, I went to see him again & as I was leaving, he put a package in my hand. This is the last piece of my life, he said, take good care of it & then he smiled & was gone & the room filled with the sound of the wind & when I opened the package there was nothing there & I thought there must be some mistake or maybe I dropped it & I got down on my hands & knees & looked until the light began to fade & then slowly I felt the pieces of my life fall away gently & suddenly I understood what he meant & I lay there for a long time crying & laughing at the same time.

Here we are again...

Another Thanksgiving.
I plan a menu, check the pantry,
dust and sweep...
even the corners that won't be seen.
I run to the store;
then to another store.
And now I am at yet another store.
I can't find what I want and need
the most
at my dinner table this year.
But the sauce is done,
the pies are perfect
and the stuffing will be
even better on Friday.
The dishes are sparkling,
the candles will be lit,
the roses are arranged
in baby's breath!
Okay...I am ready.
I am so looking forward to having
my Frank and Gabe,
Bridget and Leah
and my tiny darling angels...
Anna Rose and
James Franco come home!
My sweet Teah G
will be with me next year!
Uncle Russ will toss the first roll
and we will all realize how much
we do have to be thankful for!

Blessings to all...

and a special blessing to my Jim...
you are in my heart!
...I love you my sweet son!

It's only me...

It's just me letting you know that I've been thinking of you.  It's snowing like crazy and it's looking like just the kind of weather where you'd have "Vanna" warmed up your snowboard out and ready to hit the slopes! Sure do miss you, hon!!

XOXO
